Unless you are still living in the past, but for those in the now, the reality of the transfer market is that there’s is massive inflation in the valuation of players as typified by the signing on fees of Gonzalo Higuain and Paul Pogba. If a club must complete any deals, they come come to terms with this fact.
Arsenal have been slapped with a staggering €70 million (£59.9 million) for their prime transfer target Aleksandre Lacazette, this is according to the Telegraph , who claim Arsenal will informed of his price tag later today.
Lyon have scheduled a meeting with the agent of Lacazette, with the plan of offering the player a lucrative contract that would see him become the most expensive player within the rank of the club. He is currently valued at €50 million but his valuation will be increased to €70 million .
Arsenal saw an initial bid of €35 million (£29.95 million) rebuffed and the president of Lyon Jean-Michel Aulas has remain resolved in keeping the 25-year-old. It is believed that Arsenal will be unwilling to pay such sum for Lacazette, hence, the French outfit will have him for another season.
But this is the reality of the modern transfer market. If Wenger had signed this player before Higuain and Pogba’s deal, the inflation would not have affected him this much.
