According to Don Balon, Mesut Ozil is an alternative to Phillipe Coutinho as a replacement to Neymar if he leaves the Nou Camp this summer.

As well as Alexis Sanchez’s future at The Emirates being in doubt this transfer window, there has also been question marks over Ozil’s as they deserve to be in the Champions League, however, Arsenal didn’t make it this season.

Another players future which has been in doubt this summer is Neymar at Barcelona, with French giants PSG being heavily linked with the Brazilian.

Rumours of him leaving sparked up even more recently after a training ground bust-up with new Barca signing Nelson Semedo, which led Neymar to storm out of the training session.

Barcelona are keen on bringing in Coutinho as a replacement for Neymar and are willing to offer £80m for the 25-year-old, however, Liverpool do not want to sell him even if an offer as big as £80m does come in.

With a year left on his current contract at The Emirates, Ozil is the next name on Barca’s list of replacements and they are planning a £53m bid for the German playmaker.

Although Neymar and Coutinho play further forward than Ozil, he would still be an amazing signing for the Catalans.
