Germany international and Wolfsburg attacker Julian Draxler is set to join North London club Arsenal this summer after the Arsenal boss held discussions with the attacker’s agent over a potential move to the Emirate club, as reported by Daily Star.
The former Schalke star has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal since hitting the limelight at former club Schalke, but the Gunners failed in their attempt to sign him and watched him join Bundesliga rival Wolfsburg for £25m last summer.
According to German publication Bild today, the Gunners are showing a keen interest in the German ace, in a deal that could cost the North Londoner’s £50m.
While working as a pundit for Bein Sport during Euro 2016, the Arsenal boss admitted he’s a huge fan of the 22-year-old attacker and it looks likely the club will now step-up their interest in the star attacker.
As reported by Daily Star, the German’s agent has held discussion talks with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger about a possible switch to the club.
Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, who works for Gazetta dello Sport, is the source of this information, and he further said that the German is keen on joining the Gunners but no official bid has been tabled just yet.
Giulianelli is quoted as saying by the Star:
“Draxler’s agent has been in contact with Wenger though.
“No official bid by Arsenal just yet.”
“Draxler would be very keen on the move: he tried to go to Arsenal for the past 2 years.”
