Arsenal among other top Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Roma’s centre back Kostas Manolas.
The defender has finally breaks his silence on his reported move with a post on Instagram.
Manolas, 25, has attracted attention from several Premier League clubs after an impressive run of performances for Serie A side Roma.
Reports suggest United, who are believed to be weighing up a move for a defender this January, were weighing a £47.6million move for Manolas.
Jose Mourinho is said to be an admirer of the Greece international, although United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been closed linked too.
The chances of either club bringing Manolas to England were reportedly boosted after talks over a new deal with Roma stalled.
However, the Serie A star has appeared to rubbish these claims with an Instagram post accompanied by Roma legend Francesco Totti.
‘Write something real instead of making up stories,’ Manolas, who joined Roma from Olympiacos in 2014, said.
