If reports in the British daily this morning are anything to go by, Arsenal will be signing Julian Draxler for £43 million after the Gunners reportedly reached an agreement with Wolfsburg for the transfer of the player.
The Gunners are keen on boosting their attacking options ahead of the coming season and bringing in a new forward would reduce the pressure on Olivier Giroud.
Arsenal have been linked with the signing of various strikes but it appears Wenger will rather sign a wing forward as he has been priced out of centre forwards.
Draxler has been on the Arsenal’s radar since he was at Schalke 04. Arsenal were said to have had several bids rejected for him, even before he signed for Wolfsburg. Wenger is a known admirer of the forward and he could prove difficult to fend off this time due to the desperation to improve the squad and give Arsenal a chance to win the title next season.
The former Schalke star scored ten goals last season for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga but it must be said that Wolfsburg endured a difficult season.
Arsenal fans have long be begging the Frenchman for a new striker, unfortunately strikers such as Alvaro Morata, Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who are the Gunners’ choice are seemingly out of reach.
