£36.3m accepted! Kostas Manolas agree shock deal, medical ongoing

Like we said, this January transfer window still has loads of surprises and we hope Wenger does the unusual as transfers in the January transfer window seem cheaper.

According to report, Arsenal have been handed a huge blow in their pursuit of the best defender in Seria A Kostas Manolas.

The Greece international’s agent confirmed last week that Roma rejected a £34.6 million offer from Arsenal last summer and also stated that the 25-year-old could be on the move at the end of the season.

Manolas has been a subject of interest from several European giants including Manchester United but according to  SDNA (via Calciomercatoweb), it appears Inter Milan have agreed a fee with Roma for the defender. It’s suggested that Roma have already accepted a bid of £36.3 million from the Milanese club to go through this summer with personal terms to yet to be finalised.

Since making the move from Olympiacos in the summer of 2014, Manolas has been a regular starter for the Rome Club. He has made 22 appearances for his club this term.

Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker only recently signed new deals at Arsenal, and with Shkodran Mustafi also settling in well following his arrival from Valencia last summer, perhaps a defensive signing isn’t on Arsene Wenger’s agenda. If, however, the Frenchman is keen on signing Manolas this summer then he better move hastily before he loses out.
