Arsenal will be hoping to improve their squad during the window but, seemingly, they may have to do that without any kind of transfer money.
Considering that boss Unai Emery said the club can only consider loan deals, there seemto be some problems with the hierarchy.
Though Arsenal are facing the very real possibility of not finishing in the top four due to their wild inconsistency and that may spark the owner into life.
The need to spend is obvious, especially if Aaron Ramsey’s move away from the Emirates does go through at some point.
With a big gap in midfield, Arsenal may be able to find a top replacement for the Welshman in the form of Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Frenchman, (who is valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt) is an extremely powerful midfielder that has taken the Premier League by storm over the last few seasons.
He has already made 23 appearances in all competitions this season, which alone demonstrates how important he is for Watford.
Within that timeframe, Doucoure has provided three goals and five assists as he isn’t just defensive minded anymore.
At the age of 26, Abdoulaye Doucoure believes (as per Sky Sports) he is ready for a big move and so he should. As a consistent performer in the league, the Frenchman can expect nothing less than a big team like Arsenal knocking on the door asking for him.
He is a player that would undoubtedly make a big impact at the Emirates, with the ability to operate in different midfield roles. Whether he is more deep-lying or attacking minded like who he may replace – Aaron Ramsey – well that’s really for Unai Emery to decide.
