Arsenal and Manchester United could finally be open to signing Dimitri Payet for just £15million if West Ham United get relegated, according to reports.
The Premier League giants are both believed to be interested in the France winger and, with the Hammers struggling, he’s been heavily linked with a move away from the London stadium.
The French international is the highest paid player in the Hammers history, as he earned £125,000-a-week, but he has a clause in his contract that would be triggered if his side dropped down to the Championship.
And in the light of that, he would then be available for just £15m, according to reports from The Times.
Although, he would be alone in that situation, with several of his team-mates also having similar clauses written into their contracts.
The 29-year-old is set to hold talks with West Ham about a new deal, which would see him get another huge rise on the deal he signed in February.
West Ham may look to remove the clause in his new contract, although the player may not accept those terms given their current situation.
Bilic’s side find themselves one point above the relegation zone in 17th place, having conceded 29 goals in their opening 14 matches.
