Arsenal are expected to be less active in the January window.
However, Arsenal are reported to be close to agreeing a new deal with Mesut Ozil, that could net the player £200,000 a week.
The 28-year-old still has over two years to run on his current deal but the Gunners are keen to get him tied down to a new one as rumours continue to link him with a move away.
The German has been heavily linked with a return to Real Madrid, and was quoted as saying that Zinedine Zidane – the current Real Madrid boss – is his idol, but the new deal should put an end to all the rumours once and for all.
It is claimed that Ozil will pen a new five-year contract worth a staggering £200,000 a week, but they will have to shell out much more to keep Alex Sanchez.
Reports claim the Chilean star wants £400,000 a week and unless a compromise agreement can be reached, the Gunners could be forced to cash in.
