After a very busy summer that saw the signing of Shkodran Mustafi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez, Arsenal are now looking to offer improved contract to some players.
According to latest reports, Spain international Hector Bellerin will be offered a new five-year contract to fend off interest from Barcelona and Manchester City.
Arsenal have already begun talks with Bellerin’s representative and it is understood that the contract would be signed after the interlull.
The impressive right back has three years left on his current contract but his consistent and impressive performances for the Gunners sees him as one of the best right backs in Europe.
Barcelona, his childhood club, have joined Arsenal’s rival Manchester City in the chase of the player. This has only infuriated Arsenal with the Gunners telling his suitors that he is not for sale.
He will be offered a new five-year deal that will see him earn £100,000-A-Week. Arsenal believes this will keep his suitors at arms length.
We will also be hoping to tie down German playmaker Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to new deals as the duo contract with Arsenal expire in 2018.
